SWIM - RUN - BIKE

Swim (1.5 km) A two-loop course in Shuswap Lake. The course will be marked by buoys and will be boats for assistance if needed. Average temperature is 21° C and is expected to be calm. Wetsuits are permitted and swim cap must be worn.

Run (10 km) A hilly course, but very scenic! Course is as follows: From the beach, follow Canoe Beach drive/Lakeshore Rd to 20th Ave NE; turn left and at crosswalk turn right onto 20th St NE; follow 20th St NE under the highway and follow to Okanagan Ave; turn right on Okanagan Ave and run down the hill; at 10th St SE, turn left and immediately turn right onto 1st Ave SE; at 7th St SE, turn left and continue to 4th Ave SE where runners will turn right; go straight through 4-way stop and around the corner to 2nd Ave SE; turn left onto 2nd Ave and continue to Shuswap street; turn left and finish at the DAC transition.

The couse will be well marked with 4 aid stations: a) Canoe beach parking lot, b) top of hill at 60th Ave, c) by the highway underpass, d) corner of Okanagan and 20th St.

Cycle (40 km) From the Downtown Activity Centre, a mainly flat out and back course through scenic farmland along Salmon Valley Road. This route will be well marked and controlled. No drafting. ANSI or CSA approved helmets mandatory. Cyclists must be aware of vehicle traffic while on the cyle route, since this is NOT a closed course. Please obey all traffic laws.

Transitions - There are two transitions: swim-to-run at Canoe Beach, and run-to-bike at the Downtown Activity Centre. You will be shuttled by bus to the beach for the swim start. Your gear will be brought back to the finish area.
